Our role is to empower businesses to stay ahead of these changes by providing valuable insights into the latest trends and technologies in payments.

The next phase of the Financial Services industry will witness a convergence of banks and third-party software providers, capitalizing on the emerging API economy. Leveraging technologies such as AI, ML, Robotics, Voice-based banking, VR, AR, Blockchain, and Edge computing, they will collaborate to create an “invisible bank” that delivers a seamless customer experience. This evolution will bring forth models like Banking-as-a-Service, where banking APIs are embedded into third-party businesses and services.

Central Banks are set to pilot Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs), with control over CBDC circulation and management of various physical data storage methods currently resting with the central bank. There has been a CBDC Taskforce set up in the UK to explore of a potential UK CBDC. The Taskforce’s objectives include exploring the use cases, opportunities, and risks associated with a UK CBDC, evaluating the necessary design features to achieve its goals, and conducting an assessment of the overall case for a UK CBDC. Additionally, the Taskforce will monitor international CBDC developments to ensure the UK remains at the forefront of global innovation.

Composable architecture will facilitate cloud migration and the adoption of emerging technologies, enabling enhanced innovation and agility. This approach offers numerous benefits, including seamless scalability of operations, accelerated product rollout, flexible component selection and customization, reduced operational costs, and seamless integration and implementation of emerging technologies.

The benefits of ISO 20022 include improved efficiency and transparency in business processes, a foundation for automation and straight-through processing of payments, refined payment insights from structured and detailed data, interoperable routing of various payment types, reduced complexity for payment initiators with the potential for value-added services, and enhanced fraud monitoring with streamlined compliance procedures.
